The Opportunity

The USGP Project Management Office (PMO) Project Manager is responsible for coordinating with cross-functional project stakeholders and support teams to provide process standardization, facilitate project governance tracking, and manage continual improvement initiatives to support the USGP Organization.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain formal processes and procedures for project execution, including, but not limited to: Playbooks, Project Templates, Project Delivery Plans, Roadmaps, and Contract Documents

  • Support assurance activities to ensure conformance with TC Project Delivery Standard (PDS)

  • Identify and implement technical and process driven Continual Improvement (CI) initiatives

  • Develop CI initiative charters, execution plans, and detailed schedules to support initiative prioritization

  • Resource load and lead cross-functional teams to deliver on CI goals and objectives

  • Monitor risk and develop risk mitigation strategies throughout CI development and implementation

  • Generate and distribute senior management reporting summarizing project portfolio KPI's, CI initiative status, and program conformance with corporate standards

  • Collaborate with Corporate Services, Technical Centre, and Project Stakeholders to ensure process conformance with corporate standards

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with project personnel and support teams

  • Partner with Project Management Teams to develop Stage Gates presentations and documentation necessary for gate readiness reviews

  • Collaborate with Project Quality team to identify and share lessons learned

  • Provide USGP representation for various process improvement initiatives across the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree/technical degree required; Business Management, Engineering, Quality, or Project Management

  • Minimum 6 or more years of related experience

  • Knowledge and experience with project and portfolio management processes, policies, and principles

  • Working knowledge of version control and change management processes

  • Experience interacting with and presenting to Leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP or CAPM or Six Sigma Certification

  • Quantitative and analytical skills

  • Ability to communicate (both written and verbal) with all levels of the organization effectively in a clear and concise manner

  • Demonstrated ability to manage varied tasks, adapt to changing tasks and identify appropriate prioritization for timely execution

  • Familiarity with SAP Project System/PPM

  • Proficiency with various Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and MS Project)
