The Senior Manager - Marketing provides the strategic direction for marketing tactics and initiatives that support the TDS consumer and commercial five-year strategic plan for all business units. This responsibility includes leading a Marketing team to drive sales across all product lines and ensure brand consistency across all tactics (nationally and locally). This includes determining needs for and overseeing relationships with external media buyers and advertising agencies. The position provides leadership, focus, and direction to a Marketing team, and is required to maintain a thorough understanding of all TDS markets along with product availability and competitive threats.

In addition, this role may oversee the Field Marketing team, focusing on building community partnerships, executing local marketing efforts, and identifying public relations opportunities to support strategic marketing initiatives and drive sales and revenue growth in key markets.

NOTE: Although our preferred candidate would reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Madison, WI, this position can work remotely in any of the 40+ states in which TDS Telecom operates.



Responsibilities

Lead the marketing team in developing and executing strategies to drive customer acquisition, promotional initiatives, and market expansion. Oversee the implementation of a comprehensive marketing plan and calendar to achieve and surpass strategic goals and performance metrics.

Responsibilities include:

    Setting and clearly communicating strategic direction for the team
  • Developing measurable goals to assess the success of marketing tactics
  • Establishing and managing team budgets, with ongoing monitoring and adjustments as necessary
  • Developing and executing marketing plans to promote products across diverse network infrastructures. Implement segment-specific campaign initiatives to maximize broadband market share across all TDS service areas.

Oversee the performance of omni-channel campaigns across digital, print, and social media to ensure alignment with strategic goals

  • Identify new mediums to reach target market and influence response
  • Monitor and support effectiveness of sales channels ability to complete sales cycle
  • Develop customer segmentation, buying propensity, and competitor response strategies to inform marketing, sales and product planning efforts

Lead new product marketing initiatives in close collaboration with Product Management, Field Marketing, and Sales leadership to ensure strong execution plans for market rollouts and the successful introduction of new products and technologies. Develop targeted marketing and sales strategies aimed at both new and existing customers to drive revenue growth. Support advertising campaigns by providing qualified lead lists for outbound sales efforts and creating sales incentive programs to enhance campaign effectiveness.

Identify and increase marketing synergies across consumer and commercial segments, as well as among business units.

Provide strategic direction to the Digital Operations team, Marketing Managers, and Creative Services to shape the consumer internet experience and lead external advertising efforts. Oversee the TDS brand, ensuring a consistent and impactful company image across all markets.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) -OR- 4+ years professional work experience.
  • 7+ years' marketing, sales, or product management experience.
  • 2+ years' management/leadership experience.

Other Qualifications

  • Telecommunications industry experience, with a strong background in its core functions and a demonstrated ability to learn quickly, preferred.
  • Strong strategic planning skills with experience in go to market initiatives, customer acquisition and retention.
  • Experience in project management, process administration, and sales support preferred.
  • Ability to plan and execute sales and marketing programs that will produce revenue and results.
  • Experience in sales and/or marketing automation and targeting.
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to manage people in remote markets.
  • Experience effectively communicating and presenting to stakeholders at various levels.
  • Extensive customer interaction skills and experience.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret market data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Broad working knowledge of pricing/price promotional analysis, and statistical reporting.
