Description

The Department of Neuroscience is currently accepting applications for a (Temporary) Research Aide with the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute. This position will provide support in conducting neuroscience research. The position requires a range of neuroscience-related skills in imaging, data analysis, sectioning, immunostaining, and cell culture. The person will be able to work with others to collect, analyze, and prepare data for the purpose of our research initiatives.

What You'll Do



  • Perform wet lab experiments
  • Section brains on the microtome/cryostat
  • Image brain sections with STED super-resolution microscopy
  • Analyze and quantify images generated on the microscope during the study


Pay Grade: 10

Length of Assignment: Approximately 8.5 months

Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree
  • A minimum of 0-6 months experience involving:

    • Working in a laboratory setting


  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.
