Estimated annual base pay: $90,400 (Minimum)-$113,000 (Midpoint) $135,600 (Maximum)

Summary

The Senior Operations Engineer (level 3) reports to Technical Leadership and whose focus is performing design and support of moderate to high complexity manufacturing systems and equipment, mentoring to other Engineers and supporting process improvements. This position works under a moderate to low level of supervision. Independent technical decisions on work are covered by precedents; this position seeks direction/guidance on novel or controversial problems. In addition, this position may participate in project-specific relationship building with Customers, Suppliers, individuals or organizations.

What you will be doing...

  • Provides advanced technical solutions, leads teams, and develops innovative approaches to complex problems.
  • Implements Six Sigma, lean tools, and DFMA concepts to optimize processes and support new product introductions.
  • Justifies and implements advanced capital equipment purchases while developing and optimizing cell layouts.
  • Creates, maintains, and improves process documentation, work orders, and systems for operational efficiency.
  • Leads complex engineering changes and drives process evolution and improvement as a change agent.
  • Represents the company to customers and delivers operational updates to management.
  • Mentors engineers and manufacturing specialists, fostering team development and expertise.
  • Ensures adherence to quality requirements, supports audits, and drives reviews of PFMEA, control plans, and process flow charts.

What we are looking for...

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Technical/Science disciplines or international equivalent, with over 4 years of professional engineering experience or a combination of experience and advanced education.
  • Demonstrates solid expertise in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, project planning tools, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Possesses strong technical skills, including DFMA implementation, understanding of machine drawings (electrical/mechanical), GD&T, and manufacturing processes like CNC programming and machinery specification.
  • Skilled in industrial engineering concepts such as capabilities studies, Gage R&R, machine capabilities, cell/plant layout designs, and utility needs (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
  • Proficient in controls engineering, including database management, programming (e.g., G Code, CNC, PLC), and preferred certifications like AWS, SME, CWE, or CWI.
