We're seeking an exceptional Lead Partner Solution Engineer to join our team in San Francisco, Chicago or New York. As a trusted advisor, you'll empower Salesforce technology partners to unlock their full potential by providing expert guidance on how to leverage Agentforce's generative AI capabilities and Data Cloud's data platform solutions, as well as the full range of Salesforce Platform Core capabilities. What is a Partner Solution Engineer? Also known as a "Pre-Sales Engineer", "Solution Consultant" or "Sales Consultant," the Partner Solution Engineer is responsible for understanding a partner's business challenge and presenting technology solutions to evoke confidence in a company's technology infrastructure, and to remove all technical objections in the sales cycle. To accomplish this, the Partner Solution Engineer must have a strong desire to demonstrate their technical and/or sales skills, including the ability to solicit business requirements, develop a technical sales strategy, configure and effectively demonstrate the solutions that address these requirements and provide business value. The role is both business and technical - it is as important to understand the customers' requirements and use cases as it is to understand how our solutions meet these. Candidates must be able to work rapidly in a consultative and collaborative way with customers to discover their business need and then be able to present back, often with a solution demonstration of how Salesforce meets these needs and goes further still to add our Wow! factor. Typical Day of a Partner Solution Engineer:
- Facilitate outcome-focused dialogue to understand and define a partner's business requirements by conducting discovery calls and process-based discovery workshops
- Align with prospective and current partners to develop a vision for their future on the Salesforce platform, developing a roadmap for both short and long term goals
- Make that vision come to life by configuring and communicating the art of the possible on our platform through a product demonstration
- Establish and share a point of view on business value provided by the solution with existing and potential Salesforce partners
- Support Partner Account Managers in their responses to partnership related RFIs/RFPs
- Participate in trainings and certifications to acquire and maintain skills
- Collaborate with product and enablement teams to provide feedback from the field and drive solution growth
- Engage with partners and act as a high level solution evangelist where appropriate
Responsibilities:
- Engage partners and collaborate with account teams to understand their needs, use cases, vision, and technology strategies with respect to how data and analytics can help the customer's business succeed and transform, and how customers can build a data culture
- Act as a trusted advisor to our partners, guiding them on best practices
- Develop and sustain expert level knowledge of key Salesforce innovations that are available to partners, specifically Agentforce, Data Cloud and more Salesforce Platform Core capabilities
- Engage and collaborate with technology partners to define compelling use cases, vision, and technology strategies that drive business value for our customers
- Provide expert guidance on how to leverage Agentforce's generative AI capabilities to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer needs
- Deliver in-depth expertise on Data Cloud's data platform solutions, helping partners understand how to harness the power of cloud-based data analytics and machine learning
- Convince technology partners of the value proposition of Salesforce Platform Core, including its capabilities such as Customer 360, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud
- Build strong relationships with partners to ensure they have the necessary tools and support to succeed in the Salesforce ecosystem
- Develop and deliver compelling demos showcasing the benefits of our data platform solutions, including Data Cloud, as well as the full range of Salesforce Platform Core capabilities
- Support the partner team with technical responses to RFPs and RFIs.
- Create reusable assets that act as a force-multiplier for the extended teams.
Minimum Requirements:
- 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in the Salesforce ecosystem
- Demonstrated experience working with technology partners in the Salesforce ecosystem
- Strong knowledge of Agentforce's generative AI capabilities and Data Cloud's data platform solutions
- Strong oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills; ability to create and perform demonstrations of our solutions; ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, partners and internal stakeholders
- Ability to articulate a clear value proposition for our partner ecosystem, the Salesforce platform and our technologies, specifically Agentforce, Data Cloud and other emerging technologies
- Strong demo development and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts
- Strong problem solving skills
- Proven time management skills in a dynamic team environment
- Ability to understand partner's business goals and map those to the right technology solutions
- Ability to collaborate as part of a team to take on business and technical problems
- Passion and energy for technology and a desire to learn
- Knowledge of related applications, relational database and web technology
- Ability to work as part of a team to solve technical problems in varied political environments
- Ability to travel (25%) to partner or client site
- Degree or equivalent proven experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core proficiencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working as Solution Engineer, Pre-Sales Consultant, Technology Consultant, for/with a Salesforce Partner, Systems Integrator, Product Development Outsourcers (PDOs); experience building AppExchange Apps is a plus
- Prior hands-on experience and a strong familiarity with Salesforce declarative configuration and coding best practices are required
- 3-4+ years experience in a technology-facing role in industry (product management, technology delivery, business analysis, consulting, etc)
- Specializes in gathering and analyzing information and designing comprehensive solutions that are flexible and adaptable to the partner's needs
- Detail-oriented individual with the ability to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts, business models, and technologies
- Ability to work independently and be a self-starter. An ideal candidate would be a go-getter, who does not shy away from rolling up the sleeves to get the job done
- Highly beneficial to have Salesforce product certifications prior to joining. It is expected that you will gain the following certifications as part of the role requirement and onboarding process in the first 6 months:
- Salesforce Certified Administrator (Admin)
- Salesforce Service and/or Sales Cloud Consultant (Sales Cloud)
- Salesforce Platform App Builder (Developer/Builder)
- AI Specialist (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning)
- Data Cloud Consultant

For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $145,200 to $199,700.
For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $145,200 to $199,700.
For Illinois based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $133,400 to $183,500.
Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
