This is NOT a remote position.* We are looking for an experienced DevOps engineer to join a team of highly motivated software, systems & security engineers working on Infrastructure at scale in support of US National Security customers. Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate autonomy and ownership of your areas, proactively driving progress.
- You will collaborate with internal teams for efficient iterations of automated CI/CD pipelines with the goal of maintaining Production environments, working with service teams to transform manual processes into automated governance solutions.
- You will deploy software patches for EC2 and EKS-based services, manage EKS clusters, new platform releases and verify the successful implementation by validating deployments, monitoring system performance and resolving identified issues.
- Utilize strong interpersonal skills to work with partners from various teams, improving service health, monitoring, and visibility.
- Gain an understanding of large-scale production infrastructure with third-party cloud service providers.
- Advocate for the maturation of CI/CD pipelines, incorporating feedback to enhance efficiency and maintain service owner feature velocity.
- You will enable streamlined business processed by creating and maintaining detailed business process documentation.
Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI clearance w/polygraph.
- A related technical degree or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of Linux system engineering experience.
- 1+ years of experience with scripting/programming languages (Shell, Perl, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, Go).
- 2+ years of experience working with, deploying services on, and building on AWS.
- 1+ years of experience deploying distributed applications with containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, EKS, GKS).
Desirable:
- BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- Experience integrating security and compliance into pipelines (OPA, Twistlock, Prisma, Casbin).
- Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios, Grafana, Splunk, Graphite, Datadog, Cloudwatch, Prometheus, Zabbix, etc.
- Experience with LSM-Tree/Ledger databases like AWS QLDB or LevelDB, or LSM storage systems like Apache Bookkeeper.
- 3+ years of development experience in configuration management (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform).
- 6+ years of Linux system engineering experience.
- 3+ years of experience in developing or securing infrastructure and applications for highly sensitive customer data and environments.
- 3+ years of experience deploying with CI orchestration services (Jenkins, Spinnaker).
- 3+ years of experience with scripting/programming languages (Shell, Perl, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, Go).
- 6+ years of experience working within and building on AWS.
- 3+ years of experience deploying distributed applications with containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, EKS, GKS).
- Experience coordinating across service teams, designing practical guardrails, and providing rapid, self-service feedback on service efficacy and security.
- Strong problem-solving skills related to infrastructure, with experience in building compute capacity in fast-paced environments. Proven track record in leading key projects in design, development, and post-release support of large-scale tools.
- Ability to evaluate new technologies to solve problems and play a forward-thinking role in test and deploy service design.
