About the Role: As a Service Technician 2 , you will perform a variety of high-level activities related to truck body and trailers. Activities include but are not limited to knowledge of truck body and van electrical and hydraulic issues, disassemble and reassemble all sections of the truck body, body mounts, upfitting, as well as diagnose and repair as needed . Let's Talk About You: Your Profile:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- Advanced mechanical and 12v electrical skills with welding experience
- Truck body or equipment manufacturing repair and ability to troubleshoot / problem solve with minimal supervision
- Capability to work off scaffolding up ten to twelve feet.
- Must have a current driver's license.
Your Responsibilities:
- Complete non-standard upfit jobs and service repair work that may require problem solving, fabrication, electrical / hydraulic troubleshooting and sometimes creative solutions while continually developing skillsets for continued growth
- Chassis prep (minor modifications) / body mount / repair / 12v electrical / liftgate install, and quality inspection activities while adhering to all Wabash quality and EHS standards
- Follow all Wabash Nationals WPO guidelines and attain all certifications necessary for job role
- Work in a team environment.
- Read the work order completely, check the VIN on the vehicle to insure you have the correct components and vehicle for the assigned job.
- Mobile repair work (customer locations)
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
- Capability to install liftgates of all makes and models.

Physical Demands:
- Requires minimum of eight hours standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling with a full range of body mechanics/movements.
- Required to kneel and work under a truck or van.
- Regularly required to lift and carry up to 35 (thirty-five) pounds. Frequently required to lift and carry up to fifty-five (55) pounds.
- Must be able to work in an environment requiring use of ladder, stairs, heights, platforms and climbing in and out of trucks and vans or working under trucks in tight spaces.
- Must have ability to operate a variety of power and hand tools safely, work with compressed air safely, operate fork trucks, overhead crane, and scissor lift safely and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE).
Working Conditions and Environment: The work environment includes exposure to high decibels of noise, temperature, weather variations, metal welding processes and chemicals, which may include solvents, undercoating, paint, and caulking. Fast paced environment with moving equipment and motorized vehicles.
