This position reports to

Sales Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for sales of electrical products, solutions & services in the Houston, TX trade area in accordance with the greater Industry, Buildings & Channel strategy. You will build long term relationships with targeted contractors, distributors, consultants & end-users. This position will require managing resolution to specific customer needs & issues. Additionally, identifying and developing sales opportunities within the construction market.
The work model for the role is hybrid (#LI-Hybrid) out of the ABB Houston offices. Candidates will be able to work largely remotely, but do need to be in the Greater Houston area.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Leading the development and implementation of the account plan and Statement of Work growth actions.
- Understanding the key business drivers, including significant and emerging business risks (e.g., sustainability/digital/cybersecurity) of the relevant global customer's business and business environment, translating them into the corresponding impacts and opportunities for ABB.
- Participating in the development of sales strategies for the account through providing current business and long-term plans for the customer.
- Defining sales targets, giving input on market price developments monitoring competitors' activity with the account and ensuring that appropriate response strategies are implemented.
Our team dynamics:
You will join a collaborative sales team based in Houston and be able to both partner with peers as well as own your own individual sales targets and tasks.

Qualifications for the role
  • BS Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, industrial engineering, or applicable/related degree (required).
  • Minimum two years relevant sales / account management experience
  • Previous relevant industry experience is highly preferred
  • Passion for success, learning and teamwork is a must.
  • Experience with technical presentations, oral communication abilities in person and over the phone, drafting professionally written emails and technical documents is important.
  • Experience with customer service and managing client expectations is desired.
  • Must be currently authorized to work for ABB in the US
