Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for defining and executing the indirect sales strategy to create growth through qualified channel partners (ex: distributors, system integrators, installers) for our division's Automation business in the central US states. You will work closely with local division sales leaders and the Americas Partner Business Director to initiative, develop, and refine channel partner relationships and drive joint business plans to grow the Automation install base and take over market share from our competition.
Your Responsibilities:
*Define & implement a channel sales strategy to deliver Order volume and profitability targets.
*Lead segmentation of markets & industries to pursue via direct, indirect, or multi-channel sales efforts in your respective territory. Ensure alignment between local division sales and the regional Partner Business team on channel-to-market strategy.
*Build a Partner network of Distributors, System Integrators, and Sales Representatives to cover open white spaces in targeted states and industries. Ensure we have the right number of sales channels focused on the right end customers to grow ABB's install base.
*Build pipeline of channel sales opportunities and manage each opportunity to completion. Align with the local division sales team on account coverage and engagement tactics.

Qualifications for the role
  • Your Background:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, industrial engineering, control systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in industrial automation via Distributed Control Systems (DCS) in the following industries is preferred: Power Generation, Water / Waste Water, Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, Food & Beverage.
  • 10+ years in indirect sales or channel management experience working with technical distributors, system integrators, or installers.
  • Experience in business development and account management - a self-starter who can drive growth activities with their Partners without much oversight or guidance.
  • Ability to travel 25 - 50% of the time across the region based on Partner or end customer needs.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
