Product Quality Trainee

Job Summary:

Entry role focused on learning the audit/inspection process, the company products, and quality procedures. Under direct

supervision, applies standard procedures and working knowledge to evaluate and certify products, frequently complex in nature,

through the use of audits and validation of documentation and tests. Performs work that requires the application of various work

methods and procedures which may be complex and that requires familiarity with product, applicable codes and standards, and

manufacturing processes. Emphasis is on learning products, processes and regulatory requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Under direct supervision, applies standard procedures and working knowledge to audit, measure, inspect and evaluate

product compliance to engineering drawings, and internal procedures.

2. Audits and evaluates product compliance with applicable codes and standards.

3. Calculates burst pressures from one unit of measure to another primarily from PSIG (pounds per square inch gauge) to

BARG, KGCM, EE.

4. Validates units of measure are in compliance with customer requirements.

5. Creates standard product certifications that are in accordance to customer and agency requirements.

6. Creates discreet, non-configured engineered product certifications that are in accordance to customer and agency

requirements.

7. Uses calipers and tape measures to check work.

8. Retrieves and provides appropriate supporting documentation.

9. Documents non-conformances.

10. Forwards orders to logistics department for packaging and shipping.

11. Enters full completion information into the Fike Business System.

12. Maintains appropriate quality records.

13. Adheres to safety practices and procedures

14. Follows procedures as defined by Fike policies, procedures and ISO 9001 requirements.

15. Must be able to pass ASME Certified Individual certification within 6 months of hire.

16. Maintains confidentiality of all information processed.

17. Performs related duties as assigned. Regular and consistent attendance is required.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to talk or

hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk; use hand to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds using appropriate moving devices. Specific vision abilities

required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally exposed to

guarded moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work environment is

organized and controlled.

Job Qualifications:

REQUIRED: High School Diploma or a General Educational Development Diploma (GED). One year or more of experience in

manufacturing or quality assurance environment. Knowledge of manufacturing operations, company products and processes.

Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite and JD Edwards.
