Purpose of Position
Travels to customer locations to provide on-site customer service. This includes troubleshooting problems, providing training overview, repairing units, supervising unit installations and/or performing installation, and testing equipment to specified standards. PRINCIPAL DUTIES1. Troubleshoots and resolves customer problems with equipment at customer site. This involves travel to various customer sites. 2. Performs all tests specified in specification and contract. 3. Orders replacement parts to perform on-site repairs or reworks in the field. 4. Reworks components and equipment within scope of personal ability and contract. 5. Supervises the installation of units in customer locations. 6. Provides training to customers on various aspects of filtration equipment. 7. Maintain field service toolbox. Identify unique or special tools required for field service. Recognize as projects are developing. 8. Maintains and develops field service spare parts list and inventory. 9. Performs monthly equipment checks to ensure proper operation. 10. Works closely with Engineering, Sales, and Quality assurance in order to determine failure analysis, provide insights into product improvement, and maintain high quality standards. 11. Maintains a safe and organized work area. 12. Performs other related duties as assigned. ADDITIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT DUTIES: (When not traveling at customer site) 1. Review all required documents and test protocols for all projects. 2. Review project Operations Manuals for accuracy and content relative to each particular project. 3. Maintain project logs for current and upcoming jobs. 4. Develop standard procedures for activities related to field services and testing. Requirements
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1. Able to perform all tests specified in specification and contract. 2. Requires the ability to read and follow blueprints and product drawings. 3. Mathematical ability is needed to be able to run tests and figure percents. 4. Reading skills are necessary to interpret manuals and standards and to read specifications. 5. Possesses a professional business attitude along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. DECISIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Must determine the best way to resolve unit problems in field. 2. Determine if units are performing with spec and operational parameters. 3. Answers customer questions with ability or after consulting with the proper personnel back at the factory in engineering. 4. Performs job duties away from the factory with minimal supervision 5. Must account for all company expenditures. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS1. Lifts up to 50 pounds. 2. Must have excellent eyesight to be able to see welding or other defects. 3. May be required to climb ladders or scaffolding and crawl inside duct work. WORKING CONDITIONS1. Travels with as little as 1-2 days notice. 2. Works in a variety of customer locations with potential exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and fumes. 3. Wears personal protective equipment as required. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS1. Requires excellent customer service and communication skills. 2. Experience in QC, testing, and/or customer service is recommended. 3. Electrical experience such as basic wiring and testing is recommended. 4. Experience with reading engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and a familiarity with general metal fabrication or welding are recommended.
