JOB TITLE: Network Engineer (Senior)

GOVERNMENT AGENCY: Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Infrastructure Services & Back Office Support (ISBOS)

LOCATION: Remote; Employee must reside within a 50-mile radius of Clarksburg, WV in order to be available to come on-site to FBI facilities in Clarksburg, WV for on-call support in the event of an outage or for scheduled maintenance.

POSITION TIMING: Contingent on award; expected contract start date June 2025

ITC is seeking an experienced and technically proficient Network Engineer to support the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division. In this critical role, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure and efficient network infrastructure that enables the delivery of vital criminal justice information to law enforcement, national security, and intelligence community partners-while upholding the protection of civil liberties.

As a Network Engineer, you will collaborate with administrators, engineers, and project managers to address complex networking needs, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, and ensure the secure, reliable operation of interconnected systems. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of network protocols and security, be well-versed in technologies such as Cisco and Junos, and demonstrate experience operating within high-security, mission-critical environments.

This position demands strong leadership, documentation, and communication skills, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, Agile setting.



Responsibilities

    Collaborate with network administrators, project managers and other network engineers to perform their job duties.
  • Implementing, diagnosing, and repairing network issues.
  • Developing networks and coordinating with team members to identify network needs.
  • Analyze user needs and develop solutions.
  • Aid employees and other individuals on how to maintain the network effectively.
  • Establishing, developing, and maintaining computer networks between organizations utilizing existing infrastructure.
  • Maintain network security ensuring that network data remains secure.
  • Providing support to all users, including team members and law enforcement partners, and fixing any issues that occur.
  • Function as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
  • Designing new networks with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.
  • Maintaining computer infrastructure, network hardware and other related IT systems.
  • Troubleshooting potential network issues.
  • Collaborate with Senior level employees and leadership on issues that require guidance.
  • Replacing faulty network hardware components when necessary.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, changes, and operational procedures.


Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Experience: Minimum of eight years of experience working with advanced knowledge of network operating systems including Cisco, Junos Operating System (JUNOS), and Internetwork Operating System (iOS).
  • Certifications:
    • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Knowledge of networking hardware including CPUs, wiring and routers.
    • Familiarity with communication and routing protocols.
    • Familiarity with network analysis tools including riverbed, Cisco Catalyst Center, and Splunk.
    • Proficiency with coding languages including Linux and Ansible.
    • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills.
    • High level problem-solving and communication skills.
    • Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, XP, Kanban, and SAFe.
  • Security Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance.

DESIRED:

  • FBI Program Experience: Prior exposure to FBI IT/Infrastructure programs and operations is highly desirable, as it will allow for a faster integration into the CJIS Division's mission and objectives.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, System Management, Business Administration, or a related field, preferred
