What You Will Do:

  • Lubricates bearings and other working parts of mechanical equipment with oil or grease.
  • Adjusts feed of oil to moving parts, keeps sumps or wells of lubricating systems filled with oil.
  • Replaces cutting oils and coolants as required.
  • Has knowledge of proper lubricants for each type of service.
  • Maintains oil stocks and keeps oil house in good and safe condition.
  • Performs preventive maintenance duties on production machines including changing air motors, air cylinders, air lines, air fittings, air valves, piping, and cleaning air/water traps.
  • Makes daily checks of oil systems, lubricators, filters, and regulators on all production machines.
  • Makes daily checks of coolant in production machines, changing when needed.
  • Replaces any coolant lines, valve, motors, hoses, and piping as needed.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area and oil department. A list of required tools will be provided.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two year technical degree or equivalent education and/or experience. Valid driver's license in state of residence required.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs regularly, and 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Employee is required to occasionally walk in customer field locations which may include inclines, uneven surfaces, and a variety of weather conditions.
  • Employee must be able to regularly bend, stoop, crawl, lay down, twist and push.
  • Employee is required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment including but not limited to shoes/boots, hard hats, or respirators.
