This mid-level position is designed for a professional with experience in technical sales support, aiming to advance into a leadership role in outside technical sales with Chemelex. WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- Independently manage customers' RFQ and order entry processes, collaborating closely with outside sales to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Lead Salesforce management efforts, ensuring precise tracking of projects and providing insights to optimize sales strategies.
- Develop comprehensive proposals to secure turn-key projects, taking a lead role in collaboration with outside sales.
- Prepare detailed technical reports of findings (ROF) following customer system audits, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client needs.
- Actively participate in joint sales calls, independently defining and assessing the scope of work to drive project success.
- Formulate and refine winning strategies for estimates, leveraging technical expertise and market insights.
- Coordinate with internal departments to gather critical information, ensuring alignment with the defined sales strategy.
- Lead kick-off meetings with the project execution team, ensuring a seamless transition and clear communication of the proposed scope of work.
- Proactively engage with clients to resolve outstanding project details during pre-bid, RFQ, and execution phases, fostering strong relationships.
- Conduct detailed "field walks" with end users, independently gathering scope-defining information, including pipe drafting and precise field measurements.
- Organize and deliver lunch and learn technical presentations to Engineering Firms, E&C's, and End Users, showcasing expertise and building client trust.
- Serve as the primary liaison between sales, engineering, project management, and construction teams during project execution, ensuring alignment and timely communication.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency with SAP to streamline product orders and support inside sales operations.
YOU HAVE:
- Bachelor's of Science degree, in Engineering, Industrial Distribution, Construction, or Business preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in technical sales support, engineering, or a related field, with a proven track record in RFQ processes and project coordination.
- Advanced communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and engage with clients effectively.
- Strong technical proficiency, with demonstrated expertise in solving complex technical problems. Technical writing experience required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
- In-depth understanding of RFQ processes and proposal development in a technical sales environment.
- Ability to work onsite 5 days a week in our Baton Rouge, LA office, with regular travel to job sites (local) for field walks and client meetings. Must meet the physical demands of frequent industrial job site visits.
