Position Summary

The Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico is looking for a dynamic, organized, and self-motivated individual to join our growing Corporate and Community Engagement (CCE) Team as a Career Services Manager for Employer Engagement. Reporting directly to our Senior Program Manager, the Career Services Manager for Employer Engagement will work to connect local, regional, and national employers with the students and alumni of Anderson School of Management to align with student experience and success goals of Anderson.

The successful candidate will have strong professional relationship building capabilities and a passion for engaging with the employer community to connect students and alumni with employment opportunities.

Specific duties will include:



  • Fostering strong relationships with potential employers through the development and implementation of innovative strategies designed to connect students and alumni with top-tier internship and employment opportunities.
  • Cultivating and maintaining partnerships with local, regional, and national businesses to enhance employment opportunities for students and alumni.
  • Working closely with the Career Services Manager for Student Engagement to provide job search mentorship and advocacy with local, regional, and national employers.
  • Engaging in proactive networking and relationship-building activities to expand the school's employer base.
  • Planning, scheduling, and delivering presentations on career and employer development, career skills, and career opportunities.
  • Organizing events and initiatives that foster meaningful connections between students, faculty, and the business community.
  • Providing administrative and operational support to ensure the successful implementation of employer engagement activities

Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated work experience building strong working relationships with a variety of constituencies
  • Outstanding abilities to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Experience using Handshake or a similar career services management platform to support employer engagement, event coordination, and/or student services
  • Demonstrated ability to develop compelling and engaging presentations
  • Strong organizational skills and methodologies for tracking projects and status
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of individuals at different levels in the organization
