As the EHR Systems Analyst position you will be responsible for in-depth knowledge of our current EHR system, Athenahealth. The EHR Systems Analysts will lead the effort to support our organization EHR needs and serve as a key clinical IT resource for the implementation, maintenance, and modification of the EHR as well as user-support and training.

The analyst functions as a member of the EHR team and in collaboration with both business and clinical users, as well as other IT teams to support our clinic-wide vision of comprehensive patient care in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. The Systems Analyst will complete routine system administration and maintenance. Coordinates and completes special projects. Provides end-user training and ongoing support. Evaluates and updates best-practice workflows. Troubleshoots and resolves application and workflow issues. Engages with EHR vendor and other 3rd party vendors for EHR solutions and support. Leverages system functionality to support clinical processes and organizational goals.

The Systems Analyst must be people-oriented with good communication skills to work effectively with clinical and administrative staff to understand the problem(s) from a technology and/or application perspective and work through the issue to resolution.

Location: 444 NW Elks Dr. Corvallis, OR

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm PST

Primary Responsibilities:



  • EHR Maintenance, EHR Project Management, EHR User Support and Troubleshooting: 80% of position

    • Participates in building and maintain a service-oriented culture within The Corvallis Clinic. Participates in maintaining the Brand of the clinic and embracing the new cultural norms
    • Gains an in-depth knowledge of the EHR software as well as clinical workflows to translate patient care needs into EHR functionality


  • EHR Maintenance:

    • Performs administration of EHR user accounts, access permissions, and roles assignment
    • Creates new Provider profiles, including configurations and enrollments
    • Build, deploy, and maintain clinical templates and customizations
    • Participates in the development and testing of updates and new features
    • Builds and configures new departments
    • Attends vendor and user group conferences, webinars, and meetings when applicable
    • Stays up to date with new features, Spring, Summer and Fall Release events, and biweekly updates


  • EHR Project Management:

    • Leads or participates in new EHR Initiatives and projects
    • Coordinates response to requests by departments for EHR system modifications and enhancements
    • Collaborates with EHR Committee, physicians, staff, consultants, and vendors to complete projects
    • Identifies areas for improvement, develop solutions, and offer suggestions for workflow redesign


  • EHR User Support and Troubleshooting:

    • Trains new employees and providers on EHR system and general IT practices and policies
    • Tracks and resolves issues submitted to EHR support Tier 1+
    • Conducts both classroom style training and one-on-one training sessions as needed
    • Communicates EHR updates, new release documentation, and outages to appropriate user groups
    • Develops and maintains documentation for training and process improvement (Orientation, Advanced, Refresher classes, Helpful Hints, Frequently Asked Questions); training materials to be developed to reflect standardized best practice workflows as documented
    • Works with EHR vendor for support, project deployment, EHR upgrades, and to report and resolve technical issues


  • Secondary Responsibilities: Helpdesk and Deskside Support: 20% of position

    • Assists with Tier 1 and Tier 2 Helpdesk support calls, elevate any Tier 3+ Helpdesk support calls as needed

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of electronic health records (EHR) experience, including configuration, backend, and/or experience maintaining new products and updates within EHR
  • 1+ years of experience with basic computer software or Microsoft Office suite


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Ability to customize and configure systems to support clinic workflow and clinical best practices
  • Ability to evaluate and analyze system features and functionality for problem resolution
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule that will include some evening and weekend hours
  • Ability to understand and document clinical workflow and identify areas for improvement
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and maximum accountability
  • Knowledge of industry best practices related to patient flow and staffing roles
  • Conceptual and practical understanding of various training techniques for users with various learning styles
  • Exceptional computer skills, particularly in all Microsoft Office software
  • Exceptional communications abilities both orally and in writing with all levels of clinical, administrative, and support staff



The salary range for this role is $23.70 to $46.35 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
