Overview

The Talent Acquisition Specialist supports day-to-day operations and administration of talent acquisition efforts across UnityPoint Health, including screening of candidates and/or preboarding/onboarding of new hires. This will include maintaining an understanding of the staffing needs of the organization. This role will formulate partnerships both internally and externally to ensure all compliance needs are met, while delivering value-added service and navigational assistance to leaders, team members, and candidates through the talent acquisition process.

This position is hybrid and must be located in the Waterloo, IA Market.

What are team member vaccine requirements?

Responsibilities

Recruitment Support - 80%

New Hire Preboarding/Onboarding

  • Works with candidates serving as primary guide for background checks, new hire paperwork, primary source verification, and on-boarding, ensuring customer service, compliance, and timely completion.
  • Works with and coordinates pre-employment screening requirements with necessary occupational medicine, employee health, or pre-employment testing facilities across UnityPoint Health based on physical location of team member.
  • Responsible for tracking and compliance of all applicable pre-employment and onboarding. processes, adhering to affiliate requirements/policies.
  • Works with candidates and leaders to ensure I-9 validation.
  • May support the team member referral bonus program.
  • Serves as new hire contact during candidates first 90 days of employment.

Applicant Screening

  • Educates candidates on application and recruitment process and provides support, as needed.
  • Provides updates to candidates regarding current status of applications.
  • Reviews and pre-qualifies to ensure candidates have the appropriate skills, qualifications, experiences, and competencies for the roles in which they are applying.
  • Obtains additional follow-up information, as needed, from candidates to assess fit to position and culture.
  • Ensures screening strategies are in compliance with Federal, State, local laws and accrediting agencies.
  • Assist with preparation and coordination of interviews.

HR Coordination - 10%

  • Provides administrative support in the creation of new employee personnel files, and I-9 maintenance.
  • Supports tracking and preparation for career fair events.
  • Provides administrative support in the deployment of New Team Member Orientation, new hire rounding process, and other system wide processes.
  • Participates on various committees and teams to provide HR support and to monitor activities and completion of HR and organizational goals.
  • Provides input, support, participation, and solutions on a variety of projects that occur within the Talent Acquisition team.

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Associates degree preferred.

Experience:

1+ years in an administrative or clerical position required.

1+ years of experience in Human Resources preferred

Experience with an emphasis on recruitment, retention, or training and development preferred

Prior experience with iCIMS or BrassRing applicant tracking system preferred

Prior experience with Lawson HRIS system preferred
