Team Overview:

Housed within the Fee Strategy Team, Negotiation Strategy is a specialized division at PIMCO dedicated to empowering Investment Professionals with the skills and resources needed for challenging external negotiations. Through customized training, resources, and live-case coaching, we aim to cultivate a clear and consistent negotiation culture across all departments and offices.

Position Summary:

PIMCO is seeking a highly motivated professional to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on developing and enhancing negotiation training programs and resources for Investment Professionals globally. The Senior Associate will support and actively contribute to the creation of training initiatives, ensuring exceptional service and execution. During the initial years, the individual will shadow the current Negotiation Strategist and undergo formal training in negotiation techniques, with a planned transition to facilitate select small scale training responsibilities after approximately 3 years.

Additionally, this role will assist in preparing various reports for senior leaders worldwide, requiring strong research and writing skills. Close collaboration with the Fee Strategy team, Client Facing teams, and global leaders is essential, necessitating the utmost professionalism, collaboration, and the ability to influence stakeholders effectively. This role will also be pivotal in managing the Competitor Negotiation Profile database, which includes participating in Investment Professional interviews and analyzing competitor data to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Training Development and Facilitation

  • Demonstrate eagerness to learn and quickly acquire skills by shadowing Negotiation Strategist to master training in negotiation, persuasion, and emotional intelligence, with the goal of facilitating select small scale internal training after 3 years.

  • Leverage asset management industry knowledge and writing skills to help develop new and enhance existing training materials and resources, ensuring they are current, culturally relevant, and tailored to channel clientele through internal and external research.

  • Proactively monitor all Fee Sentry requests to identify insights for developing engaging case studies, utilizing creative writing skills to produce relevant and up-to-date case activities.

  • Collaborate with the Negotiation Strategist to assess and identify training needs across regions, departments, and channels.

  • Assist in forecasting realistic timelines for program development and implementation, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and resource availability.

  • Contribute to the writing and launch of 'Negotiation Nuggets', a series of routine publications that will be distributed globally to Investment Professionals.

  • Collaborate with Talent Development to align educational milestones for Investment Professionals and formalize all training sessions within Workday Learning.

  • Coordinate with multiple departments on training logistics to ensure effective delivery of all training sessions with exceptional service.

  • Forecast, maintain, and balance the budget while addressing the needs of Client Facing groups.

Data Insights and Management

  • Utilize advanced analytical skills to enhance the Investment Professional educational tracking system through report automation and analyze quarterly data to accurately forecast training needs.

  • Conduct weekly reviews of closed Fee Sentry requests to identify insights related to negotiation.

  • Contribute to the creation of quarterly and annual negotiation reports for EMEA and APAC heads, including fee data analysis and qualitative summaries.

  • Collaborate closely with the Technology team to enhance the internal Competitor Negotiation Profile database

  • Lead the enhancement and maintenance of the Negotiation Strategy Pulse site, continuously seeking ways to make it more valuable for Investment Professionals.

  • Ensure meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of data management, recognizing the significance of these reports for executive and regional leaders.

Position Requirements:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in the investment management or financial services industry. Negotiation, curriculum development, training, or presenting experience is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in business, sales, economics, human resources, communication, behavioral science or talent development.

Skills:

  • Solid foundational knowledge of the asset management industry.

  • Proven experience in large-scale public speaking with strong presentation skills.

  • The ability to communicate effectively with senior executives and build credibility quickly.

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (including formula knowledge), Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations, identify trends, and address needs effectively.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey ideas clearly and explain complex topics in an understandable manner.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
Salary Range: $ 90,000.00 - $ 97,500.00
