Job Summary:

The Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering is looking for a dynamic enthusiastic individual to cover a 3+ month leave of absence for one of our existing staff members. This is a great opportunity to get a foot in the door with the University of Wisconsin and work with a dedicated team to support the students and faculty in the department. The role will manage the main office as described in the detailed responsibilities in this posting.


Responsibilities:
Provides administrative support to a department or group of professionals in support of unit goals under direct supervision

  • 30% Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations
  • 10% Sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures
  • 20% Tracks, stocks, orders, and inventories office supplies to ensure adequate materials are available for workplace operation
  • 20% Serves as first point of contact for individuals and groups providing basic organizational information via phone, in person, and through other communication mediums, routing more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities
  • 20% Purchasing & reimbursement coordination

Qualifications:

Applicants are required to have a high school diploma and professional work experience of at least one year in an area such as customer support, retail, sales, finance, events, or other.

Candidates can improve their application with experience in UW systems, international communities, or Workday software. Additional preference may be given to those with a Bachelors degree and demonstrated skill in written or oral communication.


Work Type:

This position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.


Appointment Type, Duration:

Terminal appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended based on need and/or funding.


Salary:

Minimum $17.00 HOURLY
Depending on Qualifications
