The Senior Regulatory Specialist will
* Support US and Canada regional customer inquiries related to Avient products meeting various global regulations.
* Proactively identify and recommend steps to mitigate impact of impending regulatory changes on Avient's portfolio.
* Work with suppliers to maintain all required raw material regulatory information.
* Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Product Regulatory information systems (including SAP EH&S modules on Product Safety, HazCom, Dangerous Goods, etc).

Essential Functions

* Have a strong understanding and application knowledge of global chemical and food contact laws and regulations including but not limited to TSCA, EU REACH, FDA, EU Food contact etc.
* Stay current with all applicable regulations related to Hazard Communication (North America, Europe, Asia, etc.), such as GHS, EU CLP and other regional regulations
* Collaborate with customers to understand and meet regulatory requirements in formulations and provide required documents.
* Work with North American regulatory agencies such as EPA, FDA, FIFRA to assist in product registrations, and submissions.
* Maintain all relevant product information within the SAP EH&S Module and other PS systems provide data for various reports.
* Provide timely responses to customer inquiries in the US and Canadian regions
* Obtain and maintain compliance information on various raw materials to support customer requests related to REACH, RoHS, TSCA, Prop 65, FDA etc.
* Perform on-site audits of North American manufacturing facilities to ascertain compliance with standards such as RCMS, and GMP.
* Work with the technology team to assist in developing and maintaining Product Stewardship/Regulatory standards for new product development.
* Work with manufacturing plants to provide guidance on best practices to maintain regulatory compliance and provide training to end-users.
* Create documentation of internal Product stewardship processes and procedures.
* Act as backup for the EH&S PS Managers supporting specialties such as FDM/TPC.
* Other projects/duties as assigned or needed.

Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years in manufacturing, regulatory, environmental health and safety


Additional Qualifications



  • Proficiency in SAP preferred
  • Excellent working knowledge of various computer software applications (i.e., Microsoft Office applications)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to interface effectively at all levels of the organization
