Job Title: Payor Analyst Intern

Position Type: Full-Time Summer Internship

Hours: M-F, 8am-4:30pm

The Payor Analyst Intern will provide support in gathering and analyzing data related to Atos Medical's payor's performance, including reimbursement rates, denial rates, collection rates, claims payment, cost initiatives etc. to meet Atos business demands and objectives. The Payor Performance Analyst will work directly with the Contracts and Credentialing Manager to manage and deliver project outcomes and results.

Main job responsibilities:



  • Evaluate Payor Performance


Assist in monitoring and evaluating payor performance metrics, reimbursement initiatives, and contract rate assessments to ensure they align with the organization's strategic objectives.




  • Reporting and Trend Identification


Contribute to the development and maintenance of reporting systems that identify trends related to payor or item denials, offering insights that facilitate workflow enhancements and process improvements.




  • Cross Departmental Collaboration


Support the assessment of payor performance by collaborating with various departments to analyze contract provisions and claims payments.




  • Contract Compliance and Client Satisfaction


Help ensure that payor contracts fulfill client expectations and comply with relevant State and Federal laws, regulations, and guidelines.




  • Project Communication Management


Assist in managing communications regarding project statuses across all organizational levels, including updates for executive leadership.




  • Cost Forecasting


Aid in forecasting costs associated with market performance for new business initiatives, analyzing the relationship between these costs, revenue, and expenses.




  • Professional Representation


Maintain a professional demeanor while representing Atos in all interactions and communications.




  • Additional Responsibilities


Perform other tasks as assigned to support team objectives and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Basic Qualifications:



  • Enrolled in a post-secondary program in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Math, Statistics or related field
  • Must be a junior standing as of Academic year 24/25.
  • GPA of 3.0+
  • 6+ months of administrative work experience OR related course work
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Enrolled in a bachelor's program in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Math, Statistics or related field
  • Prior internship or work experience in healthcare, finance, or data analysis is preferred.
  • Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement processes, payer contracts, or claims management is a plus.



Competencies:



  • Must be collaborative and well-organized.
  • Must possess good judgment and work effectively with internal business areas, peers, and co-workers.
  • Must have strong computer skills, strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs highly recommended.
  • Ability to manage work independently end-to-end, meet milestones and provide deliverables on time.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize them and pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to recognize and direct information to the appropriate business partner.
  • Ability to meet project milestones.
  • Programming skills in R, Python, SQL and/or PowerBI data visualization preferred.
