Department Information
The College of Sciences (CoS) cultivates curiosity, encourages exploration, and fosters innovation to develop scientific solutions for a better world. Our connected community of scientists and mathematicians collaborates across disciplines and challenges to achieve excellence in science, teaching, and research. Working across six internationally ranked schools with the brightest young minds in our fields, we mentor future leaders to identify and push the frontiers of human knowledge, imagination, and innovation. This position will be reporting to the Director of Finance and will assist with managing the overall Division budget for the College and serves as a key resource for school finance and and administrative positions across the Colleges six member schools in support of the compliance and conforming business practices.

Job Summary

The Finance Manager is responsible for managing financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, while directly executing tasks without supervising a team. This position focuses on the technical aspects of finance, requiring strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in all financial processes.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Prepare and analyze financial reports to provide accurate data for decision-making and ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulations.

Job Duty 2 -
Develop detailed budgets for departments and projects, working closely with stakeholders to gather necessary financial information and projections.

Job Duty 3 -
Monitor and track expenditures against budgets to identify discrepancies and provide recommendations for corrective actions.

Job Duty 4 -
Conduct financial analysis to assess the institution's financial health and support strategic planning initiatives by providing data-driven insights.

Job Duty 5 -
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability.

Job Duty 6 -
Implement financial controls and processes to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations within the department.

Job Duty 7 -
Stay informed about changes in financial regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and improve financial management processes.

Job Duty 8 -
Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance technical skills and knowledge in financial management.

Job Duty 9 -
Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and provide support for grant proposals and funding requests.

Job Duty 10 -
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience
Four or more years of relevant experience.

Bachelor's Degree in related discipline or equivalent; related experience or advanced certification.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices as applied within a university environment. This includes skills in the application of accounting staff supervision, communications and problem solving. Use of office and finance/accounting related computer applications and systems is required.

Salary range: $75,000.00-$85,000.00
