First Merchants Bank is seeking an Information Security Manager to join our team! This position will execute and enhance the components of the FMB Information Security Program - IT and Security standards and controls, Incident Response, Security Awareness, Risk Analysis and Assessment, Penetration Testing, and Regulatory and Compliance. Collaborate across the Technology, Risk, Fraud, and Security teams within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  1. Contribute enhancements to FMB Information Security and Technology policies, standards, framework, and procedures based on industry best practices and organization risk profile. Key areas of focus include but are not limited to SOX IT General Controls, Identity and Access, PCI compliance.
  2. Ensure First Merchants Information Security program meets industry and regulatory compliance requirements,
  3. Assist in the execution of and enhancements to the Information Security program roadmap to ensure continuous improvement.
  4. Assist in the execution of and enhancements to FMB Incident Response Plan processes and testing.
  5. Assist in the execution of and enhancements to FMB security awareness program processes and testing.
  6. Perform risk assessments as required per IS program components and partner with appropriate parties to define enhancement opportunities for identified weaknesses.
  7. Participate in the coordination and preparation for regulatory, internal or external audits or exams regarding IS.
  8. Participate in change management processes to ensure that Information Security standards and guidelines are considered in design and ultimately met.
  9. Partner effectively with lateral units such as Risk Management, Technology, Legal, and Bank Protection to ensure that all Information Security program requirements are scoped and met.


To be successful in this position, we require the following:



  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in information security or related field.


The following would be a plus:



  • Bachelor's degree in business, systems, computer science, information systems or related field.
  • Certifications including: CISSP, SANS, EC Council, Security A+, CISM and/or CISA.
