Operations Control Specialist - Salary Range $95,000-$100,000.

JOB SUMMARY The Operations Control Specialists exercise operational control authority and provide operational guidance, in accordance with 14CFR135.619 and the company GOM, to pilots on day-to-day operations, to include regulatory compliance issues, pertaining to Company Policy & Procedures and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR). This individual also assists the Central Communications Center, Maintenance Control, and Medlink in providing mutual management of air ambulance crews performing the Company mission. Our Operations Control Specialists have extreme attention to detail to provide risk analysis assessment across the service area through evaluation of pilot capabilities, weather trending, and type of flight. Provides real-time, in-house, mutual management of Company air ambulance crews in conjunction with the on-duty Central Communications Center. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES * Provides Operational assistance and Operational Control * Monitors, evaluates, and reports upon requests of pertinent weather information from in-house weather advisory service to Company pilots. * Advises Company pilots of operational windows in support of air ambulance transports. * Provides real-time, in-house, mutual management of Company air ambulance crews in conjunction with the on-duty Central Communications Center. * Provides risk analysis assessment across the service area for Bases through evaluation of pilot capabilities, weather trending, and type of flight. * Will exercise operational control pursuant to OPSSPECS A008, and using Aviation Crew Resource Management escalation, will decline, cancel or abort all flights that appear to be unsafe or gives cause for concern. * Prepares operational reports as directed by the Senior Director of Flight Operations and Operations Control Center Manager. * Works with the Senior Director of Flight Operations, Director of Operations and Operations Control Center Manager. * Works with the Senior Director of Flight Operations, Director of Communications and the Operations Control Center Manager to develop, test, and revise as needed the Company EAP/PAIP. * Conducts classroom training in accordance with 14CFR135.619, and relevant subjects as outlined by the Company manuals for new-hire and recurrent pilot training classes, and Communications Specialists training classes. * Performs other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Education * High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree preferred * Must satisfactorily complete a FAA required initial and annual recurrent knowledge and practical examination (training provided) Skills * Experience in Part 135 helicopter EMS industry desired * Meteorologist background desired * Pilot background desired * Familiar with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR's) * Critical Thinking at an Operational level Experience * Demonstrated managerial or supervisory experience in related field | Job Description :
