Description
Primary Purpose: The Operations Team Lead is responsible for assisting the department manager in the day to day operation and management of the department, its staff and all its functions. This will include training new employees, overseeing, preparing and/or processing daily, weekly and/or monthly report reviews or processing of settlement or other financial transactions. Will assist management in communicating and resolving issues with other departments both within and outside Deposit Operations. In addition, they will be expected to handle production responsibilities and fill in for absent staff or during times of position vacancies. Responsible for the proper handling and completion of all departmental processes and procedures. This position should be considered a career path into a Team Lead II and eventually into a management role depending on skill set. Team Lead Responsibilities:
- Travel for training as needed.
- Liaison between team and manager.
- Operate as departmental leadership during short term absence of management and communicates issues to senior management as necessary.
- Train new employees remotely and/or in person.
- Track employee errors and provide additional training as needed.
- Prepares and processes daily, weekly or monthly financial transactions.
- Completes daily, weekly or monthly report reviews as dictated by process and procedure manuals.
- Ensure adherence to all departmental procedure manuals.
- Communicate and/or resolve issues or questions from/with other departments.
- Monitor employees workload and reassign or assist in completion as needed.
- Attend departmental and/or project meetings as needed.
- Work on implementation of projects to ensure the team's processes are covered to include training employees.
- Back up peer team leads.
Production Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily work load as needed (staffing absences or volume spikes).
- Assist with cases or work product issues falling outside normal processing parameters.
- Review and maintain departmental GLs and any reconcilements.
- Work with departmental reporting requirements and/or prepare departmental reporting.
- Assist with or serve on departmental project teams.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications: (Knowledge, skills, and abilities normally required for competent performance in the job)
- Outstanding communication skills.
- 3-5 years of banking experience in the department.
- Close attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills - including but not limited to working with & utilizing Microsoft programs, PDF and Google.
- Detailed oriented and able to follow set guidelines.
- Must be a self starter and excel at time management.
- Willingness to work in a fast paced environment while providing accurate information.
- Fosters a positive team environment.
