POSITION TITLE: Quality Engineer POSITION LOCATION: 1 Lone Star Pass, Building 41, San Antonio, TX 78264 JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for product and process quality. Ensure expected quality levels are attained in the assigned products through fulfilment of workmanship standards and quality-program requirements. Identify and report quality problems or trends in the assigned area or product based on data from a variety of sources. Recommend or implement the appropriate corrective action to quality problems in the assigned area, with the aid of engineering, purchasing, etc. Review all documentation related to product quality in the assigned area, such as test procedures and operation sheets and approves as appropriate to ensure product quality. Generate or implement defect-reduction activities. Responsible for assigned control plans. Ensure that all special characteristics are identified on control plan. Define, develop and maintain whether the incoming inspection is required on incoming materials. Create and maintain incoming inspection work instructions. Evaluate nonconforming material and initiates supplier containment and corrective actions. Document quality issues and trends/establishes prioritized improvement plants. Notify management of nonconforming product. Responsible for supplier quality on assigned supplier. Responsible for creating/approving quality standards and boundary samples. Ensure that process changes meet customer requirements. Update quality documentation and completing required documentation for customer approval. Identify or maintain appearance master samples. Responsible for selecting appropriate process controls, defining requirements for data collection, analysis and corrective action. Responsible for applicableTS-16949 and BOS standards. Evaluate and verify color. REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical Engineer or a related field, plus 2 years of experience as an Associate Quality Engineer or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Problem solving tools (8D, A3, 5 Why's, Ishikawa Diagram, etc.); (2) Automotive core tool knowledge (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC); (3) Basic GD&T interpretation; (4) Lean six sigma or other problem solving; and (5) Manufacturing and assembly knowledge. In the alternative, the employer will also accept 4 years of experience as an Associate Quality Engineer or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Problem solving tools (8D, A3, 5 Why's, Ishikawa Diagram, etc.); (2) Automotive core tool knowledge (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC); (3) Basic GD&T interpretation; (4) Lean six sigma or other problem solving; and (5) Manufacturing and assembly knowledge.
