Description Position Summary The Electron Beam Weld Operator performs high-quality welding operations using electron beam welding equipment. This role plays a key part in supporting welds' production, development, and qualification across various aerospace and precision-engineered components. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and committed to continuously improving welding practices and processes. Key Responsibilities Safety & Compliance Promote and uphold the highest standards of safety and environmental practices in all activities. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with company, customer, and government regulations. Welding Operations Set up, operate, and monitor electron beam welding machines according to established specifications and procedures. Ensure all welds meet internal and customer quality standards and drawing requirements. Clean, section, and inspect welds as necessary to ensure compliance. Preventative Maintenance Perform regular equipment maintenance (daily, weekly, monthly, annually) per predefined schedules. Assist in developing and maintaining the preventative maintenance program for welding equipment. Process Improvement & Support Collaborate with engineering and tooling teams to optimize weld designs and manufacturing processes. Provide support for root cause analysis and corrective actions related to weld issues. Identify and help implement opportunities to enhance welding capabilities and processes. External Processing & Supervision As needed, support and supervise outside processing (OP) suppliers involved in weld development and production welds. Development & Program Execution Support new product development and qualification efforts, ensuring alignment with customer schedules and specifications. Contribute to planning and executing production welding activities to meet program objectives. General Duties Assist with other tasks and responsibilities to support team and business objectives. Position Requirements Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; technical welding or related field certification preferred. 2+ years of experience in welding, preferably in aerospace or precision manufacturing. Hands-on experience with electron beam welding is strongly preferred. Familiarity with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO). Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Effective communication and problem-solving skills. Pay Range: $29.00 to $38.00 per hour Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in manufacturing. Visual acuity for precision work and inspection.
