EHS Project Manager, Compliance

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:



  • Leads and administer the global EHS compliance audit program.
  • Oversees the US CFATS program.
  • Serves as major resource on audit compliance and execution in the areas of Compliance Assurance, EHS Management System standards, ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and ISO 45001 H&S Management Systems.
  • Remains current with newly developed company standards and revisions and provides input to EHS standards under development or revision.
  • Serves as Lead Auditor and thus leads 50% of the Audits annually.
  • Serves as a functional auditor in any of four functional areas of the Corporate EHS audit (Environmental, Occupational Health, Safety and Management Systems) when support is required.
  • Develops the annual audit schedule, and report
  • Maintains audit program metrics with regard to schedule
  • Co-leads annual auditor training.
  • Supports Director in review and monitoring of site EHSMS and ISO14001/45001 performance and action plan closure.
  • Proactively conducts on-site visits to improve compliance assurance and management system performance
  • Drives Level 1 audit and repeat action plan closure and verification of effectiveness.
  • Supports continuous improvement projects as assigned.

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, Safety or qualifying science.


Preferred:



  • Master of Science, EHS or quality engineering / technical discipline.


KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:



  • 10-15 years progressive experience in Environmental, Industrial Hygiene or Safety.
  • Minimum 5-10 years experience with EHS International Audit programs.


Preferred:



  • Experience in paint and coatings industry.
  • Professional certifications in the Health, Safety or Engineering fields.


TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:



  • Ability to remain current with global company standards and best practices; understand and interpret intentions of standards, provide guidance to sites on audit findings and recommendations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal customers
  • Ability to develop and implement audit reports with clear findings and recommendations.
  • Ability to develop and implement auditor training programs to adult learners.
  • Strong team focus and proven organizational skills.
  • Solid written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Understanding of EHS Auditing and ISO Management systems

    • Maintains professional certification.

  • Use of common business software tools
  • Ability to lead and influence others in audits


Preferred:



  • EHS Auditor certification (CEA)
