Real Estate and Workplace Solutions (REWS) brings together our teams responsible for creating great experiences in and outside our built spaces under one function. These teams are Global Health Office, Real Estate, Strategy & Operations, Travel and Workplace Experience.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategy & Operations, the Director of Design, Strategy, and Capital Projects will oversee the strategic planning, design, and execution of capital projects, and the integration of workplace strategy and occupancy planning. This role is crucial for integrating sustainability principles, managing capital investments, and ensuring our office portfolio meets our needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive workplace strategy that enhances employee experience and aligns with our goals.
  • Lead the development of occupancy planning capabilities to improve space use and support business growth.
  • Oversee the strategic planning, design, and execution of capital projects, including new offices and improvements to existing assets.
  • Integrate sustainability programs into all aspects of workplace strategy and capital projects to support EA's net zero targets.
  • Oversee lifecycle management and occupancy planning for all office locations.
  • Manage capital budgets, ensuring optimal allocation and high return on investment.
  • Develop vendor relationships, managing contracts and project governance.
  • Build and develop the team to ensure a diverse and appropriate level of resources and expertise.
  • Implement branding and communications strategy, managing space planning and design principles.
  • Oversee outsourced contract administration and procurement.

Skills / Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Estates, Building Services, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in leading large-scale transformation projects with tangible results.
  • Experience working in highly matrixed organizations.
  • 10 years' senior management experience in large-scale capital projects, with a focus on workplace strategy and occupancy planning.
  • Expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, strategic planning, and sustainability.
  • Experience leading major investment business cases and capital planning exercises.
  • Excellent project management, leadership, and team management skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction, engineering, and facilities management.
  • Track record in managing and delivering large-scale and complex projects.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) * $151,800 - $208,900 CAD
* California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento) * $170,500 - $259,300 USD
* Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane) * $167,300 - $238,500 USD

In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
