Outreach & Media Assistant (Lakeside Labs - Milford, IA)

Iowa Lakeside Labs is seeking a temporary Outreach and Media Assistant!

Position Overview:

Develop outreach materials including flyers, digital media, social media posts or other materials on the Little Sioux River as part of a contract with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Plan a speaker series on the Little Sioux River including dates, times, topics and develop implementation of the speaker series to be held in 2025. Coordinate speakers to ensure topics are appropriate for the audience and relevant to the overall mission of the speaker series. Develop other media products to educate the general public on the Little Sioux River and highlight the cultural, geological, or historical significance of the Little Sioux River.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in communications, marketing, journalism or other related degree/experience equivalent
• Prior experience developing outreach materials or coordinating events
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Position Details:

• Length: Approximately 9 Months
• Hours: 30-40 Hours per Week
• Rate: $15-20/hour
• Location: Iowa Lakeside Labs located in Milford, IA
