At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We are currently looking to hire a Lead Maintenance Mechanic based in Portland, OR plant where we manufacture frozen yogurt and ice cream!

Why work here?

**Sign on bonus: $2000 paid in 3 installments ($500 after 30 days, $500 after 90 days, and $1,000 after 1 year of service)**

* Hourly wages between: $35.88 - $41.00

* Lead pay $1.50/hr premium
* Shift differential: $0.50/hr from 3:30 pm - 4:30 am
* Swing shift (2 pm - 12:30 am on 4x10's; or 2 pm - 10:30 pm or 10 pm - 6:30 am on 5x8's)
* Pay for Performance: incentive bonus annually

In this role, you will be responsible for:

You will be responsible for upholding the Safety, Quality, and timely repair and preventative maintenance of plant equipment. The Maintenance Lead differs from the Maintenance Mechanic position in the level of responsibility in which this position may provide direction under general supervision. You will be competent in electrical troubleshooting, equipment repair, preventative and predictive maintenance in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Demonstrating their ability to communicate and work as a team with other key personnel within the operation is also a requirement.

* You will ensure safety, quality, and timely repair of plant equipment.
* You will lead by example and meet daily with the supervisor.
* You will be responsible for the timely repair and preventative maintenance of all plant equipment, including utility systems, boiler system, compressed air, HVAC, and ammonia systems. (will be the communication bridge between maintenance supervisor and production/quality supervisors).
* You will repair and maintain plant equipment, including utility systems. You will troubleshoot and repair various plant equipment. This can include taking voltage and amp readings, tracing wiring, evaluating relays, testing motors, evaluating health of wiring, checking breakers and fuses, evaluating sensors and determining the health of valves. If a problem is found, determine the proper course of action and safely implement it.
* You will identify the root cause of machine malfunctions using a systematic process of elimination known as 5 why analysis in order to determine what is causing the malfunction.
* You will maintain and troubleshoot PLC programs for all the systems assigned.
* You will actively seek out and engage plant personnel and all maintenance sources to gain specific knowledge about the machinery operation.
* You will document work orders and maintenance tasks.
* You will lead swing shift maintenance team to be on track (breaks, assignments, etc.)
* You will maintain and update the Daily TDT Board.
* You will assist in creating purchase requests and Parts Room tasks.
* You will understands the importance of DaMaWay and utilizes available tools and systems to proactively maintain their workspace and equipment
* You will ensure adherence to plant standards (including but not limited to GMP, AIB, FDA, DaMaWay, Quality, Safety, Finance, ISO, CODES, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE). As a fundamental piece of the organization, your responsibility is to participate and own the implementation and deployment of DaMaWay system and its pillars (Leadership foundation, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE; Autonomous Maintenance; planned Maintenance; Focused Improvement; Education and Training; Environmental, Health and Safety; Quality; Organization; Supply Network; Early Equipment Management) with the objective of owning your space, owning your performance (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Mobilization, Nature) and owning your continuous improvement



About You

* You will have a high school diploma or GED
* You will have minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in a food production/manufacturing environment, repairing and troubleshooting mechanical issues on packaging and/or filling equipment, and other food processing equipment.
* You will have 1 - 3 years leadership/lead experience, preferred
* You will have previous experience with high speed production equipment, Evergreen packaging equipment is a plus. Previous dairy, food and beverage industry maintenance experience strongly desired.
* You will have previous experience in a combination of the following areas: PLC, instrumentation, pumps, mechanical, pneumatic, motors, electrical, hydraulic, lubrication, HVAC, refrigeration, freezers, compressors, utilities, boilers and ammonia based systems
* Familiar with CMMS program (MVP preferred)
* Experience with Microsoft Office Suites
