The UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring for a Maintenance Technician to join our Clinical Operations Group.

Minimum $37,148 - Midpoint $46,425*

*Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience.

*Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.

Summary:




  • Perform general maintenance tasks, including electrical, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and HVAC for the UNMMG clinic facilities.



  • Collaborate with the practice manager, landlord, or management company to address building maintenance issues and recommend repairs or upgrades.



  • Conduct weekly and monthly facility checklists and respond to emergency maintenance or custodial requests.



  • Ensure the general upkeep and care of clinic facilities under minimal supervision.




Minimum Job Requirements of a Maintenance Technician:

High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of directly related experience in handling building maintenance and mechanical equipment. Completed degree from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Possession of a valid unrestricted NM driver's license.

Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician:



  1. Respond to and manage general maintenance requests.
  2. Organize and prioritize work orders to minimize disruption of clinic operations; ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote workplace safety.
  3. Analyzes, communicates and coordinates minor building repairs and/or issues with clinic manager, landlord and/or Management Company as needed.
  4. Monitor, maintain and perform standard repairs to buildings, including but not limited to: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, minor patching, texturing and painting.
  5. Assist with moving office and clinic furniture, to include arranging and setting up as needed.
  6. Prepare and maintain records on all maintenance activities.
  7. Attend annual inspections of buildings and equipment with external vendors (state fire marshal, fire extinguisher annual inspection, security, etc.).
  8. Performs inspections of clinic facilities, completing monthly facility checklists.
  9. Maintain inventory of parts and supplies for facilities; purchase materials as needed.
  10. Responds to reported situations which may present a safety hazard or risk to people and property. Reports hazards and works collaboratively with Practice Manager to correct.
  11. Assist licensed plumbers, electricians and HVAC personnel as appropriate.
  12. Meets with clinic Practice Managers/Administrators periodically to review facility needs.
  13. Obtain job estimates from vendors, including time and materials costs.
  14. Responds to emergency maintenance and/or custodial requests.
