Job Summary:

The Senior Manufacturing Test Software Engineer will lead the architecture, development, and deployment of automated test systems for electronic hardware. You will design and maintain robust test software frameworks primarily using NI LabVIEW, TestStand, and Python, supporting high-reliability PCBA manufacturing across production sites in China, Vietnam, and the US.

Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of automated test software solutions for PCBA and system-level testing.
  • Architect reusable software frameworks in LabVIEW, TestStand, and Python.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Hardware and Firmware engineering leads to develop robust manufacturing test fixtures, software frameworks, and factory workflows.
  • Lead root-cause investigations across tester and DUT failures, collaborating with manufacturing and design engineering personnel to resolve testing problems.
  • Analyze and interpret test data and prepare technical reports for use by engineering, manufacturing, and management personnel.
  • Implement proprietary communication protocols for communicating with external devices via Bluetooth, USB/HID and UART protocols.
  • Drive test data collection and visualization strategies using SQL, LabView, and Python.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on test software best practices.

  • Expertise with NI LabVIEW (CLD/CLED preferred), TestStand, and Python.
  • Experience with Electronic Hardware Design using Altium or similar designer
  • Experience automating and troubleshooting rack instruments (spectrum analyzers, DMMs, power supplies, GPS simulators, PXI/PXIe Chassis)
  • Strong understanding of RF, digital, and analog test methodologies.
  • Proficiency with RF Instruments such as Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, and Power Meters
  • Ability to read electronic schematics and layouts.
  • Experience with commissioning test equipment and troubleshooting root causes for tester vs product issues
  • Experience with relational database schema definition and query design/optimization
  • Familiarity with common communication protocols (Ethernet, RS232, GPIB, etc.)
  • Understanding of RESTful service design
  • Proficiency with Git and CI/CD workflows.



Education, Experience, and Licenses/Certifications:



  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • 5+ of experience in an engineering position OR 3 years of experience and a Master's degree relevant to Electronics Design and Manufacturing
  • Must have applied experience with LabVIEW, National Instruments TestStand, SQL and other test equipment Software in an automated factory environment
  • Experience with SolidWorks and ability to read mechanical design drawings
  • Experience developing front end web portals with HTML, CSS or JavaScript desired
  • Experience with Linux operating systems desired
  • Experience with Raspberry Pi, Beaglebone or other single board computer platforms desired



Physical Requirements:



  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed, including international travel for contract manufacturer site visits and equipment commissioning (<=10%)
  • Willingness and ability to work after regularly scheduled hours as needed
  • Ability to sit at a desk for prolonged periods working on a computer (4 to 8 hours)
  • Ability to operate the equipment used for the job
  • Ability to lift 15 pounds at times
