Job Overview

Based in St. Louis, MO and reporting directly to the Vice President, FP&A for Hubbell Utility Solutions (HUS), the Director of FP&A will have responsibility for providing accurate and insightful financial and operational reporting to the HUS Senior Leadership Team. This position will manage a small team of finance professionals, partnering with finance leaders across the HUS Segment business units and site locations to drive timely, transparent, and meaningful reporting requirements relative to the annual operating plan/forecasting cycles. This position will also help champion a culture of continuous improvement for the HUS FP&A team, leveraging best practices and external benchmarks to enhance the team's efficiency and effectiveness in running the business.

A Day In The Life

  • Oversee the consolidation of the HUS Segment annual operating budget, forecasts, and supporting analyses. Surface key performance insights related to the P&L, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows to leadership.
  • Partner with the Vice President, FP&A in driving insights from financial results, identifying areas of improvement, resource allocation, and the impact of external forces to the business
  • Drive the monthly/quarterly/annual cadence for segment close
  • Aid in the development of Executive level presentations on business results, performance analysis, financial models, forecasts and budgets, etc.
  • Implement business intelligence tools and dashboard reports.
  • Assist with the evaluation of strategic initiatives, including M&A transactions and/or transformational business opportunities
  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset in how the HUS FP&A team approaches reporting and consolidation, making recommendations for improvement with technology, resources, or processes.
  • Help direct the activities of manager and analyst level members of the team; provide coaching, mentorship, and career development opportunities as warranted

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Senior finance professional in a variety of finance leadership positions
  • Experience with U.S. multi-national public company, ideally $1+Billion annual revenue with a global manufacturing firm
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or related degree, MBA preferred
  • Experience with SAP and OneStream
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, mentor and develop all levels of finance team
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, ability to lead large scale initiatives and projects with both local and executive management; ability to collaborate and communicate with others
  • Demonstrated experience interfacing regularly with professionals at all levels of the organization, from manufacturing floor to senior executive office
  • An emphasis on Functional Excellence to ensure accuracy and the development of financial acumen within the FP&A function
