ABOUT THE ROLE:
- The Performance and Quality Assurance Associate Manager selects methods and techniques for obtaining solutions for the team tasked with debugging software products and using systematic tests for the development, application and maintenance of quality standards for firm products. The incumbent provides guidance to their team to ensure software products are working properly, reliable and meet business requirements. They develop and manage operational initiatives to ensure optimal performance, reliability and scalability of software applications and systems.
WHAT THE ROLE WILL DO: Leadership & Supervision
- Manages the activities of multiple sections or a discipline through subordinate supervisors and/or professionals.
- Guides by function or department practices and well-defined management precedents.
- Responsible for supporting the talent strategy through hiring, onboarding, learning & development, performance, succession planning, engagement, recognition, and inclusion, diversity, and equity practices.
- Responsible for fostering a work environment that encourages employees to act with integrity and respect.
- Responsible for setting employee objectives and expectations, monitoring and evaluating performance, providing meaningful feedback, and mentorship.
- Responsible for supporting employee career development.
- Translates functional plans into operational processes and guides execution.
Knowledge & Application
- Receives objective based assignments and determines resources to meet schedules and goals.
- Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies. Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect section or multiple disciplines. Decisions impact others in the immediate team and influences methods and techniques.
- Executes financials, business planning, organizational priorities and workforce.
- Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors.
- Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Develops and manages operational initiatives to deliver tactical results.
Collaboration & Interaction
- Interacts frequently with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group professionals, involving matters between sections and multiple units.
- Effectively communicates and presents results and recommendations across discipline.
This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, including conversion to H1-B visa. This position has a hybrid work schedule with three days in the office and the option for working remotely two days. Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. - Required
- Bachelor's degree or higher in the information technology (IT) field. In lieu of a degree, at least 7 years of experience in IT
Skills and Experience
- 4+ years of experience in IT
Preferred
- Experience in quality assurance or performance engineering
- Experience managing direct reports
- Previous supervisory experience or team responsibility.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in programming (preferably Java).
- Experience in QA tools & technologies
- Knowledge and understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, testing frameworks, and cloud architecture is a plus
- Experience managing third-party software QA teams and/or offshore QA teams preferred.
