To strengthen our team in Chino,

we are looking for you as a(n) Technical Manager I/II.

This position will proactively support the Engineering Silicones Business Team in North and Central America in diverse markets including Aerospace, Energy, Automotive, and Silicone Rubber. The ability to effectively collaborate with local and global teams (Marketing, Sales Managers, Distribution, R&D, Supply Chain, and Operations) and external customers is paramount to support and drive to meet/exceed defined targets. The Technical Manager will be responsible for managing, developing, and training a team of chemists and initiating technical projects within the business team and support chemical and lab safety.

The Technical Manager will support customer silicone compound formulation development and/or technical service in collaboration with Sales and Marketing to achieve the Business Team objectives. The Technical Manager collaborates with the R&D group to innovate new products and works closely with our Process Chemists to scale up new products and troubleshoot production challenges. This position will also manage regional product registration and being the Chemist of Record for our SILMIX(R) custom compounds business. By working cross-functionally with other managers, the Technical Manager will actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the site.

Position Qualifications



  • Bachelor of Science, Chemistry, Material Science, Polymer Science, Materials Engineering, or related field, Masters in Chemistry/Polymer Science, or Doctorate preferred
  • Minimum 5 years relevant technical supervisory experience, technical service, R&D, engineering, or product development
  • Experience in HCR and silicone compounds (preferred)
  • Knowledge and skills required: experience working in a team environment, rubber testing knowledge, in a materials laboratory, with QA systems, polymer processing expertise, understanding of silicone chemistry.



The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Chino is $130,300.00-162,500.00. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc . Wacker is a multi state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
