UCF College of Nursing will be moving to UCF Academic Health Sciences Campus at Lake Nona in July 2025.

The Opportunity:

The University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Nursing (CON) is seeking candidates for a Contracts and Grants Specialist II. Reporting to the Contracts and Grants Manager, the Contracts and Grants Specialist II will primarily focus on pre-award services and will be responsible for performing administrative work in support of research proposals, awards, and compliance.

Responsibilities:


  • Provide oversight of pre-award sponsored program functions associated with the review and submission of proposals.

  • Review and analyze issues for federal, state, and private sponsoring agencies.

  • Ensure that proposals are accurate, complete, and in full compliance with sponsor and university policies, procedures, and requirements.

  • Develop and modify template language for proposals.

  • Review final proposals for accuracy of tables, figures, and reference citations.

  • Develop and format content for proposals, e.g., bio-sketches, tables, and figures.

  • Develop project budgets and write budget justifications.

  • Assist in preparing reports on grant activity within the college.

  • Provide assistance with interpreting sponsor guidelines and completing college and university forms.

  • Engage with faculty, staff, the office of research, high-level administrators, and research partners to achieve objectives.

  • Assist in developing and coordinating college research workshops.

  • Interpret and implement university and college policies and procedures.

  • Oversee proposal development tasks and timelines.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:


  • CRA, pre-award experience.

  • Knowledge in UCF systems associated with grant management (i.e. Huron).

  • Experience working in higher education.

  • Experience with UCF financial system (Workday).

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
