Your tasks The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing records required for outgoing shipments and reviewing outgoing shipment schedules to maintain productive operations. Prepares bills of lading or shipping documents for each shipment. Checks and records all items loaded for shipment. Posts shipments to customer orders and calculates outstanding shipping balance. Closes out orders and forwards documents to production planning and accounting departments once shipments are completed. Notifies supervisor or planning department when major discrepancies occur, such as over-shipments or substitutions. Maintains other shipping records, such as goods returned, returnable pallets, dunnage, etc. Collects information for damage claims on in-transit damage. Generates and prepares customs export documents for international shipments. Coordinates multiple shipping container live loads. Other duties as assigned. Your profile Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Previous warehouse operations experience. One (1) to two (2) years of Shipping experience preferred. International and/or export shipping experience advantageous. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: Exposure to machine noise. Typical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production and warehouse area. Working conditions are normal for a high volume manufacturing environment. Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 65 pounds and working in and around heavy equipment. Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and work boots. This role may require walking in a non-climate controlled manufacturing environment.
