Brief Description: The Field Service Technician is for Service Tech I; II; III or Senior Technician; Job Descriptions. Generally, travels to field locations to perform a variety of equipment service and maintenance activities with little guidance. Activities include Electrical, Hydraulic or Mechanical troubleshooting, servicing, repairing, adjusting and testing of equipment, documenting work performed, equipment condition and other maintenance activities. Additional duties include training and mentoring on Installation & operational level maintenance, coordinating maintenance related projects, and providing appropriate feedback to the internal or external job site manager and or maintenance management team. Job Requirements:
- Ability to safely navigate drilling work sites & Shops with occasional walking, climbing, standing, stepping, etc. during normal operating conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather)
- Ability to travel to visit drilling work sites, occasionally requiring extended travel to remote locations and/or overnight stay(s) outside normal office area
- Lift and carry 50 pounds independently while walking on uneven surfaces
- Bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and crawl occasionally during visits to field and operational work areas
- Frequent use a variety of hand and power tools to perform a range of mechanically oriented functions including independent use of heavy-duty handheld and long-handled tools
- Clear vision to judge near and far distances to maintain awareness of, watch, and report ongoing work activities to coworkers and third parties
- Listen for unusual noises that signify equipment and machinery problems
- Maintain spatial orientation and awareness to safely move around work environment with many moving objects
- Stay alert and focused including during occasional extended work periods
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all designated times
- Ability to work on weekends and be on call after hours
- Demonstrate clear communication skills including ability to read, write and speak in English as well as understand with the ability to promptly give, and follow, directions when working with others
- Strong organizational Skills
- Electrical, Hydraulic, Mechanical aptitude and ability to read and follow schematics & assembly drawings to build, disassemble, trouble shoot & repair equipment
- Utilize a computer and software for communication, reporting and data acquisition
Minimum Qualifications:
- All levels:
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent education
- State-issued driver's license and be eligible to drive a Company vehicle, including ability to meet requirements of Company's Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy
- Tech I:
- 2 + years Shop or Industrial Equipment maintenance experience or equivalent credits
- Or 1 + year Field maintenance experience in an oil and gas related industry
- Tech II:
- 3 + years Shop or Industrial Equipment maintenance experience or equivalent credits
- Or 2 + year Field maintenance experience in an oil and gas related industry
- Tech III:
- 4 + years Shop or Industrial Equipment maintenance experience or equivalent credits
- Or 3 + year Field maintenance experience in an oil and gas related industry
- Tech SR:
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 5 + years Shop or Industrial Equipment maintenance experience or equivalent credits or:
- 4 + year Field maintenance experience in an oil and gas related industry where you were responsible for completing troubleshooting and repair related experience
- State-issued driver's license and be eligible to drive a Company vehicle, including ability to meet requirements of Company's Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with the Warrior product line.
- Millwright, Journeyman Mechanic or Electrician certificate or Trade School Degree
- Oil & Gas Equipment Installation, Rig up /down experience:
- Warrior, TDS 11 Top Drives, Iron Roughnecks, Automated Catwalks, Power End
Additional Details: These position(s) require the person to work in both office locations and outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including precipitation, cold / heat, high wind, and turbulent conditions. The Technician will be occasionally exposed to the typical conditions of the local area where the drilling operations and rigs are located. The Technician must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others including coworkers and third parties. Also must be able to work closely with others and under deadlines including time-sensitive response situations and be willing to work extended schedules that will include working days; and - or nights, weekends and holidays.
