Overview

This position is responsible for leading, developing, and executing the Compliance Risk Assessment and Regulatory Inventory Programs of the Bank, which includes the areas of regulations inventory management, compliance risk assessment, and related activities. In this position you will manage a team and work closes with various stakeholders to provide consultative guidance and direction in analyzing, reviewing, and implementing solutions related to regulations management and risk assessment. The position will interface with Internal Audit, banking regulators, and senior bank management.

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.


Responsibilities

The individual needs to have strong legal background in financial services or related industry and be able to perform the following:

  • Risk Assessment:
    • Designing and building a compliance risk assessment.
    • Identifying inherent risk factors and criteria for the risk assessment.
    • Design and incorporate various data for the risk assessment.
    • Developing risk profiles at business unit level and at a regulation level.
    • Developing risk assessment reports that address various topics, such as residual risk rating analysis, key drivers of inherent risk, etc.
    • Presenting the final risk assessment results to key stakeholders and senior management.
    • Maintaining compliance risk assessment procedures and advising management on risk assessment methodology.
  • Regulations Inventory Management:
    • Maintain a library of laws and regulations that are relevant for the organization.
    • Manage the process for performing research and identify relevant laws for the organization.
    • Obtain review from Advisory team on applicability of the regulations.
    • Provide reporting as it relates to regulations library, including changes in the library.
    • Work with technology teams to implement the Regulations Library in GRC and other systems.
  • Business Strategy - Partners with and influences business unit and senior leadership regarding technical compliance matters. Drives the achievement of compliance objectives that align with enterprise risk appetite and tolerance while upholding overall security and integrity. Identifies opportunities to leverage technology that enhances processes, mitigates risks, and improves operational efficiencies. Builds relationships with external regulatory agencies and examiners

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience in Compliance, Legal, Audit, Banking or other related experience OR High School Diploma or GED and 14 years of experience in Compliance, Legal, Audit, Banking or other related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent understanding of regulatory landscape at the federal and state level.
  • Expertise in researching and interpreting laws, regulations, and guidance documents from government sources and issuing agencies.
  • Excellent knowledge of regulatory change process and how it amends existing laws, including codification of laws.
  • Ability to write compliance memos, reports, applicability analysis documentation, and other documentation.
  • Good analytical, research, organizational, and project management skills.

The base pay for this position is generally between $165,000 and $210,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
