WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Makes autonomous, sound decisions throughout the entire claims process, ensuring thorough evaluation and appropriate action plans.
- Develops strong business relationships and communicates professionally with claimants, brokers, sales teams, vendors, and internal partners to ensure high-level customer service.
- Regularly reviews claim status, determines liability, and coordinates with external and internal partners to resolve issues and adjust benefits.
- Leads and mentors a team of Benefit Claim Specialists, ensuring their development, troubleshooting issues, and driving departmental projects.
- Provides expertise in complex claims, manages diverse caseloads, and ensures compliance with ERISA and other laws, while driving team performance and customer relationships.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Strong understanding of complex insurance provisions, regulations, and disability claims procedures.
- Skilled in interpreting vocational, medical, and contractual information to make informed claim decisions.
- Exceptional ability to calculate complex disability benefits and apply analytical, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
- Proficient in relevant software (Word, Excel, GSAP, Fineos) and possesses strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a changing environment.
- You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
- Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.
