Responsibilities
Provide in-depth acquisition, programmatic, policy, technical, and mission engineering support for current and future remote sensing programs, including their space and associated ground segments. The remote sensing programs support the overhead persistent infrared (OPIR) and space-based environmental monitoring mission areas including Next Generation OPIR, Space-Based Infrared System (SBIRS), DoD Weather satellite programs, Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution (FORGE), and Enterprise Ground Service (EGS) architecture. In your role, you will provide on-site support to the government for DoD Remote Sensing systems within the Office of the Under Secretary for Acquisition and Sustainment (USD(A&S), and specifically the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (DASD) for Space, Strategic and Intelligence Portfolio Management (SSIPM). This position is for in-person work in the Pentagon, Arlington, VA.
- You will Use your in-depth understanding of DoD system acquisition; the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution Process; programs and space policy to evaluate issues and provide recommendations at the SES level on the remote sensing portfolio
- You will support SSIPM acquisition oversight and portfolio management activity including working groups, integrated product teams, and review boards.
- Develops issue papers and presentation for senior department executives.
- Reviews and draft congressional testimony, briefings and reports.
- Reviews acquisition documents, policy and briefings; provides staff support to community level working groups.
- Prepares read aheads and talking points.
- Supports program reviews and develops recommendations.
- Supports GAO reviews and develop responses.
- Performs FOIA and security reviews, interface with industry.
- Participates in reviews, studies, analysis of alternatives.
- Coordinates initiatives across external offices and agencies.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of work relevant work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in DoD acquisition.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office (especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Remote Sensing programs or Major Defense Acquisition Programs.
- Higher Headquarters experience working directly with SES and General officers.
- Pentagon experience.
Educational Requirements:
- Master's degree in engineering, science, technical analysis, or acquisition management with, or a related field.
Certifications Desired:
Clearance Requirements:
- Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. (SCI required to work in customer office).
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
