Primary Function

The Engineer will be a part of a team to develop, test, and qualify electronic controls for water heating applications. A qualifying candidate will use engineering techniques and the scientific method applied to electrical and electronic solutions. This role requires foundational knowledge of AC and DC circuits, as well as microprocessor-based systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and document findings. Responsibilites
  • Actively contribute as a team member within the Electronics Systems team to support project goals and milestones.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to efficiently resolve product issues.
  • Conduct testing in accordance with written test specifications, utilizing standard electronic laboratory equipment such as digital multimeters (DMMs), oscilloscopes, programmers, and soldering equipment.
  • Review design specifications, provide constructive feedback, and actively participate in design reviews.
  • Support engineering tasks related to design, process improvement, and production analysis, ensuring time and cost objectives are met.
  • Assist in brainstorming sessions to identify opportunities for product enhancements and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Accurately enter and modify product data in ERP systems and initiate/review Product Change Processes (PCPs) as needed.
  • Develop, implement, and adhere to engineering standards and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Technology, or a related field.
  • Up to one year of related experience, including internships or co-op experience.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency with basic electronic laboratory tools.
  • Ability to effectively use standard Microsoft Office tools is required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges and technologies.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide occasional on-site manufacturing support and perform specific troubleshooting (~10% travel) to develop a deeper understanding of operational processes and production challenges.
  • Plan, execute, and coordinate engineering assignments, including managing smaller projects or contributing to major project objectives.
  • Document findings, test results, and analysis to support continuous improvement and knowledge-sharing within the engineering team.
  • Proactively take on additional tasks and responsibilities to support evolving team and organizational goals.
