As the Content Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the production of FASB, GASB, and FAF documents, upholding the highest standards for producing high-quality content. You will train and manage the team in consistently and efficiently producing accounting standards and other documents. You will collaborate with FASB and GASB staff and the other Content Operations Managers to manage the publishing schedule and style guide, and train/manage external vendors to provide timely and quality results. This role will lead the team in maintaining authoring templates, QC tools, documentation, and reporting.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage direct reports' work throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery and quality of content and products, including:
    • Support authoring activities including content requests, design and template updates, and reviewing recommended updates to the style guide.
    • Maintain and distribute the publishing schedule and make assignments for document production work.
    • Manage external vendor support (copyediting, proofreading, design, authoring templates, printing).
    • Enforce content quality control processes and compliance with house styles and designs.
    • Coordinate author reviews and approvals.
    • Train and coach Content Operations Specialists.
  • Contribute to ongoing maintenance and development of the publishing platform, content architecture, and processes.
    • Manage the maintenance and development of authoring tools including designs, Word templates, style guide, and quality assurance tools.
    • Perform user acceptance testing.
    • Develop and review documentation of new features and functionality.
    • Support ongoing development of content and information architecture.
  • Provide leadership within the FAF Content Operations group.
    • Maintain departmental KPIs, metrics, and reports.
    • Collaborate with Director of Content Operations and colleagues to troubleshoot and streamline processes.
    • Liaise with FASB and GASB staff to manage publishing schedule and resolve issues.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience producing content for a technical organization required, including 2 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
    • Substantial experience copyediting and proofreading technical content. Finance or accounting content experience preferred but not required.
    • Expertise in Adobe Suite (InDesign, Acrobat, Illustrator) and other print production tools required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft and Adobe applications (MS Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Acrobat, Photoshop).
  • Experience managing a technology-enabled operation (authoring templates, online editing, automation tools).
  • Experience managing external vendors including: budgeting, training, and oversight.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong project management, organization, and self-management skills.
  • Experience writing or editing technical documentation helpful.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
