Job Description Summary: Incumbent will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing inventory levels to ensure efficient operations and customer satisfaction. The Senior Inventory Analyst will be responsible for analyzing inventory data and implementing strategies to minimize costs while maximizing inventory turnover.
Facilitate the cycle count process between Finance, Supply Chain, and Production. Works closely with Stockroom and Planning personnel to ensure inventory accuracy.
Job Description: Duties/Responsibilities
- Update and maintain the inventory policy according to the supply chain standards & update the MRP setups accordingly.
- Closely work with the demand planning department to understand the market trends and demand variability and adjust inventory levels accordingly.
- Develop and implement inventory optimization strategies to reduce carrying costs and minimize stock outs.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including purchasing, planning, and logistics to align inventory strategies with business goals.
- Closely work with cost analyst explain & address the inventory costs variances against standard costs / identify root causes and recommend corrective actions plan to the planner-buyers.
- Analyze the obsolescence costs on slow movers to provide relevant inputs to the product management team.
- Participate in the S&OP process by analyzing the projected end of month inventory levels, identifying gaps vs targets & work closely with the Supply Planners & the production team to define & implement the mid & long-term correctives actions plans.
- Utilize inventory management software or ERP systems to track inventory movements and maintain data accuracy.
- Collaborating with management and inventory supervisor create automated data feeds from several data sources, building dynamic reports centered on key field inventory (turnover rates, stock levels, and aging inventory) and sales performance metrics, and instituting efficient methods to distribute information to wide audiences.
- In collaboration with management and inventory supervisor, build, develop and maintain data models in Power BI, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics that support key business decisions.
- Identify, anticipate, and mitigate risks related to inventory, such as obsolete stock, excess inventory, or supply chain disruptions.
- Continuously evaluate and improve inventory management processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure a positive customer experience by exhibiting a helpful and team-oriented attitude towards customers and employees.
Skills/Abilities
- Technical expertise in Excel, relational databases, dealing with large datasets from various sources, and writing complex calculations.
- Proven experience as an Inventory Analyst or similar role, with a strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and present findings to management.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and problem-solving.
Education
- HS degree or GED required. Associate in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
Experience
- 2 years' experience performing analytics in Operations or Field Inventory.
