Duties, Responsibilities & Other

KCI Technologies Diving Practice is hiring an Engineer-Diver join our team. The ideal candidate will be adept at planning, directing, and monitoring marine engineering and diving projects.

Key Responsibilities:

    Conduct underwater inspections of various structures, including bridges, dams, piers, wharves, marinas, ports, bulkheads, and seawalls.
  • Perform condition inspections and quality control inspections for construction projects.
  • Engage in structural design and analysis of marine structures.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and oversee the plan development process from concept through final construction plans for new structures, rehabilitations, and repairs.
  • Manage projects effectively, ensuring completion on schedule and within budget.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Comprehensive understanding of all facets of commercial diving and ADCI requirements for surface-supplied air diving.
  • Proficiency in structural engineering, design, analysis, and bridge condition inspection is highly desirable.
  • Experience with bridge, waterfront, and/or dam projects is preferred.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Proven project management experience with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Certification by the Association of Diving Contractors International (ADCI) is required.
  • National Highway Institute (NHI) Bridge Inspection certification is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Travel at least 50% of the time is a requirement of this position
  • TWIC card is preferred.

Qualifications

Education and/or Skills Required:
* Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
* Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited Program
* Strong Proficiency in required design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Revit.
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Good communication and technical writing skills.
* Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:
* Ability to maintain required certifications

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Preferred:
* Professional Engineer (PE) eligibility
