*Location:* Onsite, W Union Hills & i17
*Schedule:* Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm or 8:30am to 5pm *Duration: *Long Term with opportunity for growth to leadership or other departments *Description: * As a team member of the Authorizations department, the specialist will be responsible for obtaining authorizations, verifying eligibility and coordination of benefits, and obtaining a cost estimate for surgical procedures. *Qualifications* * A minimum of 2 years of experience in the healthcare field is required and previous experience in referrals/authorizations, front office, and/or charge posting is preferred. * Excellent organizational skills and strong customer service orientation are required with a strong background in computers and data entry. * Working knowledge of eligibility, verification of benefits, and prior authorizations from various HMOs, PPOs, commercial payers, and other funding sources is a huge PLUS! * Skill in effective organization and billing requirements and authorization processes. * Skill in using computer programs and applications including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook. * Skill in establishing good working relationships with both internal and external customers. *Experience Level* Intermediate Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.09/hr.
