Electrical Manager

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Department Manager to lead and develop our electrical team. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and project management capabilities to effectively guide electrical projects from conception through to completion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Lead licensed electricians and electrical techs in the electrical department.
  • Communicate and enforce safety policies.
  • Conduct interviews and employee performance evaluations.
  • Develop and grow the electrical team on off shifts to support long-term growth objectives.
  • Direct and train the electrical team on proper electrical processes and techniques.
  • Report information on production efficiencies and delays.
  • Monitor and adjust bin stock with purchasing.
  • Coordinate cycle counting and inventory management within the electrical scope.
  • Schedule and ensure effective flow of units and materials within the electrical department.
  • Ensure electricians have accurate information and drawings through collaboration with project management, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering.
  • Ensure work is completed in a manner that meets NEC standards.
  • Maintain and update internal and subcontracted electrical staffing schedules.
  • Prepare and organize weekly and daily tasks for the electrical department, including off shift tasks.
  • Manage build schedule and component transfers along with daily updates.
  • Utilize ERP for production status, time adjustments, and job hour reviews.
  • Drive positive change through Kaizen, 6S, and other continuous improvement projects.
  • Evaluate all processes within the area of responsibility for ways to improve quality, tooling usage, and run times.
  • Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine sequence of operations and setup requirements.
  • Be qualified in the use of forklifts, cranes, and other lifting apparatus to aid in the electrical process.
  • Develop standard work, work instructions, and processes.
  • Confer with managers, engineers, production personnel, or others to resolve electrical problems.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.


Qualifications:



  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training and a High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Physical Demands:



  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


Work Environment:



  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


Leadership Responsibilities:



  • Directly responsible for Working Leads in the Electrical area.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.
