Shift:Days - 12 hour shifts

Pay Range:$34.50/hr - $39.65/hr

Sign On:$3,000 signing bonus available to external hires new to MHS employment, contingent upon satisfaction of employment requirements.

Position Summary:

The Surgery Technician scrubs for surgical procedures in the Operating Room as assigned under the supervision of a RN. The Surgery Technician Per Diem provides safe cost-effective patient care throughout the preoperative, intra-operative, and post-operative periods to the Operating Room patient according to established LBMC standards.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

List of broad job specific functions.

* Consistently applies infection control policies and procedures Demonstrates knowledge of the clinical information system and applies principles to patient documentation.

* Meets Population specific competencies.

* Attends department specific education, training, inservices, and staff meetings

* Provides preoperative, intra-operative, and post-operative care

* Uses surgical equipment safely to prevent patient or personal injury Ability to be at work and be on time.

* Provides care in a safe and cost effective manner

* Performs other duties as assigned..

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications/Work Experience

* Experience as a surgical technician in the OR is preferably

Education / Licensure / Certification

* Graduation from surgical technician program or equivalent training.

* Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate.
