Position Summary |
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy.
UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
The Senior Associate Director of Career Coaching will lead the process and planning efforts for coaching for the
UNC Kenan-Flagler Full-Time
MBA program. This position directly manages the major career process and planning initiatives throughout the academic year.
The Senior Associate Director will work to develop efficient and effective processes across the coaching team, including big picture calendaring and planning. S/he will plan and develop the onboarding of
MBA students, lead partnerships with the club advisors in conjunction with
MBA SA leadership team, and coordinating staff coverage for
MBA Conferences and treks. The Senior Associate Director will coach
MBA students and manage a portfolio
MBA program relationship as part of their responsibilities.
The Senior Associate Director will report to the Director of Career Coaching for Career & Leadership for
MBA & Alumni. This person will lead a coaching team and work collaboratively with the remaining coaching team members, the Employer Engagement, Recruiting & Operations team, Program Directors, other degree programs, advancement, business partnerships, faculty, centers, students and alumni of
UNC Kenan-Flagler. The Senior Associate Director will manage several employees who work within the coaching department. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent educational or instructional activities associated with the delivery and/or management of student support functions, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and at least 1 year of relevant experience in substitution. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
-Critical skills include the ability to build internal and external relationships with broad constituencies; a demonstrated commitment to customer service; and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment, both virtually and in person in a hybrid work environment.
-The candidate must have strong writing and verbal skills and be able to communicate effectively with a diverse population of high-performing individuals. Candidate should possess excellent public speaking skills and be able to address students and other constituencies in small-group settings, workshops and classroom/auditorium presentations. The ability work in a fast-paced, energetic environment, and be able to multitask and meet multiple deadlines.
-Must be able to work evenings on an alternating basis, and be able to travel up to 15%, to support various job-related functions. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
-Master's degree preferred.
-Five or more years' industry experience in a
MBA level role in consulting, banking, finance, technology, real estate, health care, human resources, marketing, or as an executive or career coach.
-Preference for candidates that possess a coaching certification (
ICF,
NCDA,
CCE or other coaching organization) or assessment certification (Gallup CliftonStrengths, Birkman, Strong, DiSC, MyersBriggs, or other instruments related to career and leadership development).
-Demonstrated knowledge of career management and talent development and some leadership development programming is a plus.
-An understanding of the
MBA career landscape. |

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities. |
